Super Duper on Chestnut.

Two of the Bay Area’s most successful local mini-chains opened their latest locations this week.

First off, after a false start, Adriano Paganini (Beretta, Delarosa) opened his third San Francisco location of Super Duper today at 12:30. The menu is a replica of the other two burger spots (in the Castro and downtown), and hours are 11am-11pm daily, with the preliminary plan to stay open until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights, though he’s unsure about how well it will go.

“We’ll try to test the threshold,” jokes Paganini about his late night service.

Meanwhile, Patxi’s Pizza opened its latest outpost yesterday in the former Darla’s, near the corner of Ninth and Irving. As far as Patxi’s locations go, the Inner Sunset version is on the smaller side, with only 36 seats. Hours are Sunday-Wednesday from 11am-10pm  and Thursday-Saturday from 11am-10:30pm. Delivery is available to the Sunset and Richmond.

Super Duper: 2001 Chestnut Street, at Pierce; (415) 931-6258 or

Patxi’s: 822 Irving Street, near Ninth Avenue; (415) 759-9000 or patxispizza.com.
