Longtime Inner Sunset standby Darla’s closed at the end of April, but it hasn’t taken long for someone to claim the storefront at Ninth and Irving.

Come late summer, it will be home to the fourth San Francisco location of Patxi’s Pizza, joining other outposts in Hayes Valley, the Marina, and Noe Valley. There is also another location down the Peninsula, in Palo Alto.

All in all, it’s going to be a busy summer for Patxi’s, as the growing local chain is also scheduled to open its first East Bay location in Lafayette (3577 Mt. Diablo Blvd.) on June 15.

Size-wise, the Inner Sunset branch will be smaller than the other San Francisco locations, similar in design to the Noe space (1800 square feet), but the menu should be fairly similar to what the Bay Area has come to expect out of Patxi’s. Expect more details as the new restaurant comes into focus in the coming months.
